Isabella Pfeil
Research Interests
• Soil moisture remote sensing
• Effect of soil moisture on vegetation
• Water stress in agricultural areas
Isabella studied Geodesy and Geoinformation with a focus on soil moisture remote sensing and geophysics. In her master thesis she derived the freeze/thaw states of the earth's surface from satellite backscatter data. Her aim is to analyse the effect of water stress on crops, using both satellite and field data.
Key Facts
Isabella obtained a bachelor and a master degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation at TU Wien in 2013 and 2016, respectively. Since 2014, she has been working with the Remote Sensing research group at the TU Wien Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation.
In 2016, Isabella joined the International Water Management Institute in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte (Sri Lanka) for three months to work on the prediction of agricultural droughts from soil moisture data.
